Recovery is a journey of discovery. Before we came to Al-Anon or Alateen, many of us couldn’t answer the simple question, “Who am I?” But once we found the rooms and we started picking up the tools of the program — the Steps, slogans, our literature, sponsorship, service — we began the process of learning about ourselves.

At this year’s convention, we’ll continue that journey of discovery. We’ll work together — through workshops, listening to speakers, and sharing with each other at meetings and at meals. At times we might cry. At other times we might laugh. We’ll hug, we’ll share, we’ll listen — and together we can help each other heal and recover. And throughout the weekend together, we can try to help each other discover who we are.

Convention — Coronavirus Update — March 18

With all of the cancellations and closures over the past few days, many of you have wondered, “What about the Convention?” So far, the 48th Annual PA AFG Convention is still on and still over 70 days away. We’re working with Susquehanna University to understand their status and what our options might be, but at this point, we feel it is premature to cancel the Convention. We will review the situation again in early April and share any news with you at that time.

A few points, though. First, we will move the early-bird pricing cut-off to May 1. Second, if we would need to cancel, all registration fees will be refunded, so there is no risk to you by registering now.

Keep watching this space for more news about the impacts the Coronavirus is having on the Convention. We are still hopeful that we will be able to see many of you in Selinsgrove on May 29. In the meantime, stay healthy. We will get through this One Day at a Time.

$10 Early-bird discount:

Register online by midnight, May 1 (or postmark paper registration by May 1) to receive the early-bird pricing.

Prices go up by $10 on May 2!

Registration Deadline:

The deadline for registration and payment is midnight, Monday, May 18, 2020. We must receive full payments and registrations by May 18. There will be no extensions.

WHAT TO BRING (University does not supply these items):

PILLOW – Bring your own! extra blanket, extra towels, hangers, night light, water bottle, coffee travel mug, phone charger.  NOTE: Coffee is only available at meals. Bring your own coffee maker for your room.

University Policy:

Pets, comfort, therapy, and emotional support animals are not permitted inside University buildings and should not be brought to campus. Legally recognized service animals (dogs, and miniature horses under specific provisions) pursuant to Pennsylvania and Federal law are permitted in buildings and should be clearly identified as such. University employees have the right to inquire if an animal is a service animal and what tasks it is trained to perform. If you bring a non-service animal, you will be asked to leave the campus.

Arrival:

Convention sign-in begins at 3:00 pm on Friday, May 29th. Rooms will not be available until this time.
