The 2018 International Convention is just around the corner—Friday, July 6, through Sunday, July 8—in our own backyard in Baltimore, Maryland. It’s not too late to register—there is still time! Simply go to the Al-Anon website to register online or by mail and to get the latest information.

Attend recovery workshops during the day on Friday and Saturday at the Baltimore Convention Center. Join thousands of Al‑Anon, Alateen, A.A. members, and their guests, both evenings and Sunday morning, to celebrate recovery and worldwide unity at the “Big Meetings” which will be held at the Convention Center. Friday evening there is an Ice Cream Social and Saturday evening will feature a dance for all attendees.

While the formal convention starts on Friday evening with the Language of Love Parade, many folks are heading to Baltimore on Wednesday to catch the fireworks at the Inner Harbor.

For those coming early to the Convention, Thursday offers a Day of Connecting—a day filled with learning, sharing, and deepening your understanding and commitment to our third legacy: Service. Workshops, panels, roundtable discussions on a variety of service topics will be hosted by the Board of Trustees and members of the WSO staff. The day promises to be a stimulating and exciting boost to your program and a fantastic way to kick off your weekend in Baltimore, as well as meeting others who share their love for service. Check out the flyer. There is a participation limit and registration is required.

On Saturday, join other members and guests in recalling our 67-year history at the Pioneer Luncheon. Here, we will come together to share a meal, listen to a long-time member speak about recollections of how Al-Anon used to be from personal experience and to hear brief sharings from other long-time Al-Anon members attending the luncheon. This is an opportunity to express gratitude for those who came before us. Space is limited and tickets are required.

This year’s International Convention also offers an app for connecting with other attendees, as well as planning your sessions. You’ll get the most up-to-date information about the convention, including schedules, maps, and much more. You will receive details about the app and how to set it up after you complete your Convention registration.

Finally, the International Convention only comes around once every five years. The next International Convention is in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 2023. Don’t pass by this chance in 2018 to learn, grow, and connect. You deserve it. It is an important part of your own recovery from the effects of the disease of alcoholism. Register now for this not-to-be-missed family reunion with over 4000 Al-Anons from around the world.
