Interview: Recovery Begins with One Step
We talked to Sandra R., this year’s Convention Chairperson, about the Convention and some of her personal perspectives on the theme and the workshops. We found her stories interesting and we wanted to share a few of them with you.
My First Convention Surprised Me
Sandra R. shares her first Convention experience. She had recently moved to Philadelphia and though she had been in Al-Anon over two years, recovery was still elusive for her. She went to the Convention simply expecting to reconnect with old friends from Harrisburg but found so much more. The experience invigorated her recovery and led her to service, ultimately leading her to be this year’s Convention Chairperson.

The last day of the Conference is here. While I’m looking forward to getting back to my normal schedule, I know I’m going to miss the important work we’ve been doing here.
Tuesday — Frustration, Tiredness, Sadness
Frustration, Tiredness, Sadness. Those are the words that come to mind when I reflect on Monday. Being at Conference can be grueling, but it also demonstrates that the process works.
What Day Is It Again?
I’ve been so busy at the Conference, that I’m beginning to lose track of the days. Today is going to be another busy day, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t moments of serenity, like a beautiful sunrise — or moments of joy, like sharing ice cream with my fellow Delegates.
Sunday — Conference Officially Opens
It’s Sunday and I’m already feeling the pressure of being on time to the opening session, but I wanted to get my latest post to you. There’s an excitement in the air here as we get ready to do the business of Al-Anon and I’m honored to be a part of it. Thanks to all of you for your support.
Saturday — First Day of the Conference
It’s Saturday, the first day of the conference. I’m all set for the day and for the conference. Yesterday, I even had a chance to stick my toes in the water.
